APPLICATION   Generation of bioclimatic parameters based on climate surfaces.

ANUCLIM Vrsn 6.1. is a software package developed by Tingbao Xu and Michael Hutchinson that enables users to obtain estimates, in point and grid form, of monthly, seasonal and annual mean climate variables from supplied climate data. ANUCLIM consist of four programs – MTHCLIM, BIOCLIM, BIOMAP and GROCLIM, all of which strongly depend on the supplied climate surfaces and can incorporate climate change grids.

MTHCLIM – obtain estimates of monthly, seasonal and annual mean climate variables from supplied monthly mean climate surfaces at specific points and grids.

BIOCLIM & BIOMAP – bioclimatic prediction system that uses bioclimatic parameters to gauge energy and water balances at a given location and employs a bioclimatic envelope method to predict the potential spatial distribution of species beyond known sample sites.

GROCLIM – simple generalised growth model that calculates weekly indices of light, temperature, moisture and growth for up to four different plant types from supplied climate surfaces at given locations.

ANUCLIM Vrsn 6.1. was significantly upgraded and now allows for the systematic incorporation of climate change grids to enable the investigation of the impact of projected climate change.

ANUCLIM 6.1 was used to generate bioclimatic parameters based on climate surfaces. The supplied climate surfaces are location and topographic dependent functions that describe the spatial distribution of monthly mean values of daily minimum temperature, daily maximum temperature, precipitation, solar radiation, pan evaporation and others.
